How to Cure Shrimp Allergy?

Shrimp allergy is very common to young people. It is considered as one of the serious food allergies as statistics from adults shows that this allergy is a life-long disease. Similar with tree nuts and peanuts, shellfish are mainly the cause of anaphylactic reactions.

To give you an idea about shellfish they are separated from two types, the crustacea (such as shrimp, lobster and crab) and the mollusks (such as oyster, scallops, mussels and clams). Crustacean shellfish allergic reactions are more severe. If you are allergic eating shrimps you might not be allergic in other varieties of groups. But, there are people who are allergic to a certain type are also allergic with all the types and most allergist recommend the not to eat such foods. In case you are already diagnosed with shrimp sensitivity never attempt eating this food if your doctor didn’t gave you a go signal.

People who are allergic to shrimps should always be aware and prepared whenever they eat out. Better ask the chef who prepared the food is the shrimps are not cooked on the same pan or the oil used in cooking is already used. Another suggestion is making sure that the dish is not also prepared using the same utensils or on the same working are of other shellfish.

There are sensitive people easily react to aerosolized shellfish protein like in shrimps through steaming. It is advice not to stay closer from vaporized tables or stovetops when cooking such food. Seafood cuisines are recognized high-risk because cross-contamination is always possible even other dishes are or ordered.  Heard about Carrageen? If not, this is a marine algae and it is not a fish, it is mostly recommend because it is much safer if you are allergic to shrimp or other fishes.
